According to Garcia y Garcia, there was slight damage to the south-east corner of this insula, when a bomb fell onto the Via dell’Abbondanza in 1943.

The bomb fell in front of the SE corner, between III.1.6 and I.XI.7

According to Della Corte, an obscure Praedicinius practiced his unknown commerce or industry here.

He came to this conclusion because of the graffito found on the pilaster on the right -

Popidium adulescentem

According to Della Corte in Notizie degli Scavi, high on the left pilaster above the proper whitewash, the following electoral programmata came back to light –

Cuspium // Pansam / aed(ilem) o(ro) v(os) f(aciatis)       [CIL IV 7601]  in red

and underneath, written in black -

Casellium / aed(ilem) o(ro) v(os) f(aciatis)       [CIL IV 7602]

Towards the threshold, a fragment of tile was found (o.32m long) on which was painted, in red and with a simple outline, the head of a gladiator protected by his helmet: above it reads, the name –

Primus       [CIL IV 7603] in red

On the brick pilaster to the right of the entrance, the following electoral programmas appeared –

In the first, high up, we see for the first time the recommendation in the name of a candidate Calvenzio Quieto,

namesake of the incumbent Augustale with the well-known monumental tomb outside Herculaneum Gate.

Epidium Sabinum / IIvir(um) iur(e) dic(undo) o(ro) v(os) f(aciatis) Trebius cliens facit / consentiente sanctissimo / ordine       [CIL IV 7605] in red

Immediately below was the programma written in black –

C(aium) Gavium Rufum // II(virum) i(ure) d(icundo) o(ro) v(os) f(aciatis) / rog(at)       [CIL IV 7606]

which hid another earlier one, also written in black –

C(aium) Lollium Fuscum // aed(ilem) / [6]      [CIL IV 7607]

Followed, another more under, a programma written with a red first line, and black in the second line –

Popidium adulescentem / Praedicinius rog(at) aed(ilem)      [CIL IV 7608]

Underneath, written in black –

Q(uintum) Postumium quinq(uennalem)      [CIL IV 7609]
